Mission Statement


The mission and purpose of the Association is to:

  1. promote the interest of its members
  2. support the educational mission of the School of Medicine and the University
  3. be a giving foundation for the enhancement of education and special charitable projects in Grenada, St. Vincent, England and the United States
  4. encourage participation of all alumni in activities of St. George's University
  5. networking among its alumni and medical students for career advancement
We as the SGUSOM Alumni Association are in a unique position because our Chancellor, Charles R. Modica has charged us, as well as all of the other school's Alumni Associations of the University to fund raise only for charitable projects. Other University Alumni Associations traditionally raise funds which go back to their University's buildings fund, etc. but St. George's University has set our mission to fund raise only for charitable projects. We are fortunate to have the support of our Chancellor and the University to achieve our goal as a charitable organization.

What does this mean to you? Your Alumni Association is a 100% charitable fund raising (the money we raise goes to charities not the school). You as an Alumnus can be instrumental in helping achieve our goals as a charitable organization. We are a registered Not-for-profit organization which gives you a tax break. Also, you can feel that you play a real part in making a difference in the lives of the many needy groups we support. So contact us and take an active role as one of our proud Alumni.
